Red Flags for ARVI

Especially in the cold season, children become susceptible to respiratory viral infections. Although ARVI usually proceeds without complications, some symptoms may signal more serious problems and require medical attention.

  • High fever (above 38.5°C) for more than 3-4 days, or if it decreases and rises again.
  • Heavy and labored breathing: rapid and/or noisy breathing, wheezing, or high respiratory rate.
  • Severe weakness and apathy, especially if the child cannot get out of bed or is lethargic.
  • Mucus in sputum when coughing: yellow, green, or brown.
  • Ear or throat pain, especially if the child cannot open their mouth wide or turn their head.

If your child has any of these symptoms, do not delay a visit to the doctor. They may indicate serious complications of ARVI, such as pneumonia, otitis media, or other diseases that require specialized treatment.
