What is EQ, and how to develop it

Emotional intelligence, or EQ, is a set of skills that allow a person to recognize, understand, and manage their own emotions, as well as the emotions of other people. It includes emotional awareness, emotion management, empathy, social skills, and much more.

People with a high level of EQ understand the emotions of others better and interact more effectively in relationships, including in the family, at work, and in society. Leaders with high EQ are able to better motivate and inspire their colleagues, manage conflicts, and achieve a deep understanding of the needs of their team. People with developed emotional intelligence cope with stress more effectively and adapt to change. The ability to analyze your own emotions and understand the emotional states of others helps you make more informed decisions.
